Four Rare Ferraris From Private Collection Have A Major Role At Bonhams Hendon Sale


Four exceptional, rare Ferraris in one place! 

A 1999 Ferrari F50 Barchetta, a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO Berlinetta, a 1990 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta and a 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale are the part of a private collection and waiting for you to grab them at Bonhams sale of Collectors’ Motor Cars and Automobilia at the Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon on 11 April 2011. It is expected that all four cars together bring more than $ 1 million
1999 Ferrari F50 Barchetta has attracted a pre-sale estimate of £350,000 – 400,000!

This is an amazing carbon fiber, V12, two-seat sports car based on the Ferrari 614/2 that won six races in 1990 and nearly snatched the driver’s championship for Alain Prost’. Built to commemorate the Maranello marque’s 50th anniversary, it has just 5,444 kilometres on its odometer. There were only 349 F50s ever made, and many of them went straight into museums and private collections.
1985 Ferrari 288GTO Berlinetta is expected to fetch £350,000 – 400,000!

The 288GTO is one of the most desirable and sought after Ferraris of recent times. Styled by Pininfarina’s Leonardo Fioravanti, The 288GTO is one of the rarest of modern Ferrari road cars. The car was based on the 308GTB and made its public debut at the Geneva Salon in February 1984. The Ferrari 288GTO was conceived as a limited edition model with just 200 units.
1990 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta has attracted a pre-sale estimate of £300.000 – 350.000!

The 1990 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta was announced in 1987 to celebrate Enzo Ferrari’s fortieth anniversary as a carmaker. With coachwork by Pininfarina, the two-seater, mid-engine coupé was developed from the limited-production 288GTO. The Ferrari F40 up for grabs met with an heavy front-end accident, following which its owner Vittorio Colombo commissioned the famous Ferrari competition specialists Michelotto of Padova for a full restoration.
2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is expected to make £75.000 – 85.000!

Introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show, the 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is described in the catalogue as a thoroughly modern automobile employing state-of-the-art technology.
1978 Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer is Another sale highlight which has attracted a pre-sale estimate of £90.000 – 110.000!

Also, worth mention is this 1978 Ferrari 512BB Berlinetta Boxer was earlier owned by British Formula One driver Jenson Button. The car was bought last year by then reigning Formula One World Champion.
